Within the field of the university presidency’s interest in enhancing cultural aspects and developing literary skills among students, the Student Activities Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized a training course entitled “Teaching the Art of Literary Writing”, which comes within the university presidency’s orientations to support creativity and encourage students to develop their writing skills.

The course, presented by Eng. Khitam Safi Al-Yasiri included two main axes; the first dealt with “writing”, where the different types of writing, their stages of development, and the basic tools that a writer needs were addressed. As for the second axis, “Make a Beginning”, it focused on how to form a creative idea and embody it in distinguished literary texts.

In his statement, the head of the Student Activities Unit, Asst. Dr. Raad Ajil said that this unique and first course at the university level aims to “develop students’ literary skills and introduce them to the basics of creative writing, which contributes to refining their talents and enabling them to express their ideas in a professional manner,” noting that the college seeks through these activities to enhance interest in cultural activities within an academic environment that supports creativity. The course witnessed great interaction from students, who expressed their appreciation for the course content and the extent to which they benefited from it, stressing the importance of such programs in developing their literary skills and motivating them to continue writing
